Heo-y-Cyw will be back in action this weekend. The side will prepare to take on Aberavon Harlequins this weekend in the pursuit of finishing block one with a bang. Two sides that play with plenty of heart and desire; it is sure to be a cracker. Quins will be looking to stay in the hunt at the top. At the same time, the Cyw will look to produce their first win of the league campaign. Both teams will be desperate for a victory, and the home crowd will be in full voice.
Heol-y-Cyw this season so far
It hasn’t been the start of the season the Cyw would have wanted. As previously stated, the club is still hunting their first victory. Even though the results haven’t gone their way, one theme has remained consistent in their performances. A theme that defines the badge, the club, the village: effort and heart. Over the first block, close encounters have unfolded. The contest against Ystalyfera was extremely tight; the Cyw went into the clash with 14 players. A thrilling game played out, but the Heol-y-Cyw just missed out, losing 27-22. Now, the Cyw will look to turn that effort into results, and Aberavon should provide a steadfast challenge.
Quins
Ever since earning promotion from Division 2 West Central, Aberavon have been on fire. They currently sit third in the table with 16 points. Amassing three wins, one draw, and one loss. Quins have recorded back-to-back wins. On a trip to Skewen, they put on a tremendous performance, securing a 59-14 victory. That result was backed by a razor-thin win over Ystalyfera, which ended 21-19.
An abundance of players have produced for Quins this season. Ryan Pugh has been impressive, tallying 18 points, and is a vocal point of their game. A fantastic team that has a sensational amount of talent within their squad. It has the makings of an entertaining contest.
Outlook
Before the break, each team will look to build something to build on. When both teams met in Division 2, it was a fascinating matchup. Fast forward to this, the teams are different, but there is no reason why it wouldn’t be a brilliant game. Heol-y-Cyw will be hunting points to make a statement. The crowd will be loud, the players will compete hard, and it could be a fantastic Halloween for the Cyw.
Passion will be at an all-time high, as victory is a must for both teams.
